San Diego Mesa College Museum Studies is curating an exhibition to be hosted at the new Gallery D in Barrio Logan.

Bifocal: Bridging Perspectives: is about connecting the past and the present of Barrio Logan and including different perspectives. We're looking for artists who live, work, or have a connection with Barrio Logan now or in the years past. Please include a statement with your submission and address one or more of the following questions: What role fo you play in your community, as an artist or resident? How do you feel about your identity and/or your community's identity? How have you evolved and how has the community changed? Are any of these identity/community issues reflected in your work?

Venue: Gallery D, 1878 Main ST, Unit D, San Diego, CA 92113 (Barrio Logan)

Exhibition Dates: April 9-28, 2016

Opening Reception: Saturday, April 9, 2016 in conjunction with the Barrio Art Crawl

Deadlines: Please submit materials by midnight, March 1, 2016. Selected artists will be notified by March 10.

Eligibility: Artists who apply must live, work, or have a connection with the neighborhood of Barrio Logan now or in years past. Works of all media accepted: painting, drawing, sculpture, performance, or video (for video or media works, artists need to provide their own video or projection equipment as needed). Work must be ready to hang. NO FEES.

Submission Guidelines: Email a link to your online portfolio/website, or send up to 5 good quality, low resolution JPG images to: mesamuseumstudies@gmail.com. Please include statement and bio.
